Expert Witness Services

Dr. Oliver provides consultation and expert witness services for legal matters involving traumatic injury, death, grief, bereavement, and psychosocial impact. Services are informed by clinical experience, trauma-informed perspectives, bereavement research, attachment theory, and reflective practice, with attention to the psychological, relational, and functional effects of serious injury and loss. Consultation and testimony are intended to support clear understanding of the human impact of catastrophic events within legal contexts.

Consultation services are available during various stages of litigation involving traumatic injury, death, grief, bereavement, and psychosocial impact. Consultation may include discussion of case themes, psychosocial considerations, potential areas for further review, and issues related to the human impact of serious injury or loss. The goal is to assist attorneys in identifying and understanding relevant grief-, trauma-, and family-system factors that may affect a case.

Review of medical, psychosocial, and related records is conducted to identify information relevant to trauma exposure, grief responses, family-system disruption, psychosocial functioning, and adaptation following serious injury or loss. Record review may help clarify patterns, contextual factors, and areas requiring further consideration. Findings are interpreted through established trauma-informed and grief-informed frameworks.

Psychosocial impact analysis examines the psychological, relational, and functional effects of serious injury, traumatic events, or death on individuals and family systems. Analysis may include consideration of attachment disruption, grief processes, changes in functioning, role disruption, and broader impacts on daily life and relationships. The purpose is to provide structured understanding of the human consequences of catastrophic events.

Expert reports provide organized, research-informed analysis regarding trauma, grief, bereavement, and psychosocial impact within the context of a legal matter. Reports are developed through review of relevant records, case materials, and established theoretical and empirical literature. The goal is to present information in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for legal proceedings.

Deposition services are available to provide clear explanation of issues related to trauma, grief, bereavement, and psychosocial impact. Testimony focuses on communicating complex concepts in language that is understandable and grounded in established scholarship and professional experience. Emphasis is placed on clarity, consistency, and professional objectivity.

Trial testimony is intended to assist triers of fact in understanding the human impact of traumatic events, serious injury, and loss. Testimony translates complex grief- and trauma-related concepts into structured explanations that support comprehension within legal settings. The focus remains on objective, research-informed communication.

Educational consultation is available for attorneys seeking greater understanding of grief, trauma, bereavement, attachment disruption, and psychosocial adaptation following catastrophic events. Educational discussions may support case preparation and broader understanding of factors affecting individuals and families after serious injury or loss.
